Global Technology Conference

Wednesday, 28^th September - 2.30pm - 6:00pm

The Global Technology Conference (GTC) showcases the most innovative ideas in our industry from all over the world.

Twenty-three abstracts have been received from twelve countries covering subject areas across the entire LP Gas distribution chain. Subject areas covered by the abstracts received include:

• Techniques to increase LP Gas production
• Cathodic protection of underground tanks
• Weed control in agricultural applications
• Advanced telemetry in LP Gas distribution systems
• Biometric solutions for administering LP Gas subsidies
• New operational methods for cylinders
• A new approach for leading innovation in the LP Gas Industry
• Non-metallic pipes for underground distribution
• Assessing and eliminating contaminants in LP Gas
• Low carbon power generation
• Terminal automation systems
• LP Gas technology applied to seismic hazards

We will showcase eight papers selected by a steering committee. This year we are also planning to use a display of posters of all twenty-three abstracts that have been submitted, including those that were not selected for this event. Our format for Doha will be a single stream of up to eight presentations from 2:30pm to 6:00pm with a break for coffee. GTC 2011 will provide an invaluable insight for everyone involved in all aspects of the LP Gas business from all parts of the world and all types of markets. During the event the WLPGA will present the third Innovation Award to the winner of the GTC-3 programme chosen from papers presented in Madrid in 2010. This is an event that simply must not be missed. Put it in your diaries now: 28^th September 2011, 2:30pm – Doha.

Important Dates (updated schedule on March 2011):

Phase I

• Call for abstracts: Mid-December 2010
• Submission of abstract deadline: 15^th February  2011 4^th March 2011
• Acceptance/rejection of abstract to authors: 4^th May 2011

Phase II

• Notification of submission procedure for full paper: 4^th May 2011
• Submission of full paper deadline: 30^th May 2011
• Review & Final author notification: 27^th June 2011

Phase III

• Submission of Final paper & presentation: 29^th July 2011
• Presentation of Paper at GTC-2011: 28^th September 2011
